Informational Seminar on ‘Compulsory Insurance in Armenia’ at YSU

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS: An informational seminar on ‘Compulsory Insurance in Armenia’ was held today at Yerevan State University. The initiative was taken by the YSU faculty of mathematics and mechanics, chair of actuarial mathematics and the ‘Armenian Association of Actuaries’ NGO. According to Vardan Dabaghyan, chairman of ‘Armenian Association of Actuaries’ NGO, from the 3 types of car insurance – CASCO, accident and third-person liability insurance – only the third one will become compulsory in Armenia. As to its importance, Vardan Dabaghyan said vehicle insurance will promote the extension of Armenia’s insurance market, development of a civilized way of arguments’ solution and creation of additional vacancies. ‘After the adoption of the corresponding law, the number of insurance agents in our country increased up to 4000,’ Vardan Dabaghyan said. According to Satenik Sargsyan, member of ‘Armenian Association of Actuaries’ NGO, the activity of insurance bureaus is aimed at protecting the interests of the injured and ensuring stability, development of the system in Armenia. The participants of the seminar discussed insurance tariffs and risk factors of tariff calculation.

The 25 the actuary’s international congress which was organized by the international actuaries association took place on march 2010 in Republic Of South Africa. There took part the members of the International association of actuaries, the member associations, insurance companies and so on. The main theme of the congress was the consideration and the expansion of the actuation’s working sphere.
